Kladdkaka! (Swedish chocolate mud cake)

The kladdkaka is a dense, sticky cake with a gooey center that all swedes love, and it’s super easy to make. It’s also very satisfying and a small piece goes a long way (for most people).

All you need is:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2,5 dl sugar
  • 4-5 tablespoons of cacao
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • 100 gram butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Cat’s are excellent helpers in the kitchen

How to make it

  1. Set the oven to 175 degrees C (350 F)
  2. Melt the butter
  3. Mix sugar and eggs
  4. Add all the other ingredients and mix together, try to avoid getting to much air in
  5. Pour the mixture into your cake tin
  6. Bake in the oven for 15-20 min
  7. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream and/or berries 🙂

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture from the side where you can see all the gooeyness, and when I remembered it there was obviously no cake left :/
